These are general things we weren't taught by our institutions or parents and we are surviving without knowing how to thrive.
You don't need something, unless it is nourishing food, water, or transportation and shelter
Supplements for your health can be good, but not all supplements are necessary and some are just really good marketing
You don't need all of the cleaning supplies. You can make windex at home, you can use bleach or lysol as a desinfectant, and you can avoid most specialty cleaners and save yourself some money
You don't need to use the full cap of detergent when you wash your clothes, most brands recommend less than half of the cap, and if you use too much you lose money and you risk making your clothes dull.
Dryer sheets are expensive and unnecessary, and they cover your clothes in micro plastics, invest in wool balls that will last you a lifetime.
Thrifting toys saves you money if you have kids, there are brand new toys that get donated sold for a fraction of the price of toys in the store.
Buy something if it means saving a bit more money. For example, if you have a subscription for Spotify music, end the subscription and buy yourself an inexpensive MP3 and fill it up with music.
On the subject of subscriptions, avoid them at all costs. There is always a better alternative. You are being sold convenience.
It is better to save as much as you can and act like you are poor than to act like you have money and actually be poor.
Convenience is the enemy of your wallet. When you pay for convenience, you risk doing it again and again because it becomes a habit. Learn to do things yourself so that you don't fall for the trap of somebody else doing a service for you.
