I despise HOA'S

Note: I realize I spelled despise as dispise, I was in the middle of having my coffee but had not had enough to notice I misspelled the word. Oops.

If you know me or if you follow my blog, you know that I am currently in the process of moving from a house I needed to move into about a year ago.

It is of course, another ticky tacky house in a superficial community full of superficial people. SO much for a community, nobody ever says hi to anyone unless you are awkwardly both walking in the same direction.

The HOA in this community has sent us a couple of violation claims that we have committed.

The first one being... We left the trash bin out. It wasn't that we left trash out for everyone to see, no, it's that we left the trash bin outside. We didn't put it in the garage on time (who cares? everyone has a trash bin).

The second one being, we parked on the grass. (We didn't) The car was about an inch on the grass, that is about it. OH, my favorite violation that wasn't mentioned previously, we didn't let the landscapers get into our yard (no thank you, I like my privacy and I can mow my own backyard).

Okay, so why do I hate HOA's? Well, it is probably obvious why now. However, I will admit I wasn't too elated about moving here, but we needed a home asap at the time, we were moving from a different city to this current one and the rent was high everywhere, and this was affordable and big enough.

Suffice to say I don't belong here and I feel my spirit protest each time I come back and see rows of houses. I belong on a farm, honestly. I grew up on a small 1/2 acre with chickens and dogs and you name it. I have always been surrounded by nature and I always dreamed of being surrounded by nature. An HOA to me, is like a cage to a wild animal, I am simply not domesticated enough to enjoy the feeling of false security, community, and superficiality that the HOA provides.

I don't belong here... And maybe many people do not, a good majority seem to be moving out of this same neighborhood. I hope the HOA pulls its hairs out when nobody is left to entertain their stupid rules and give them money.

My neighbor to the right of me is a rat. Well, he acts like one anyway. I have had rats as pets before and they're not that bad, but this guy is one of those wild brown rats from New York.

He runs inside every time he sees me go outside, it's like he wants to avoid any interaction with me. I guess I'm not the neighbor he wanted next to him. We don't play music outside, or make a huge commotion, so I don't really get it. Maybe he overheard our politics and he's one of those kinds of people. The walls are incredibly thin in these houses, you know?

No matter, summary of this post being, I hate HOA's and I hope you do too.
