The Horror of being silent

One of the worst things I've ever observed had to do with my country.

Children being lined up against a wall. You know the rest.

That was the revolution in my country. That's what it was about. About dissenters getting what they deserve. Children included.

I was 17 when I first saw the old footage. I remember seeing the horrors of the regime that took place on that footage. Men. Women. Children. Everyone that couldn't flee.

The revolution required blood sacrifices. Land and businesses were to be seized and redistributed.

One sacrifice that stuck with me. A young boy of 14, he had fought along side the revolutionists. He didn't know any better.

Once he realized the evil, he went against them. He told them that they were evil. So they shot him.

A boy with big bright blue eyes, a brave young man was lined up and shot military style for disagreeing with the evil that he thought was good.
