You don't need to prove yourself to anyone
The longer I am on this earth the more I recognize that I don't need to explain my reasoning. For anything.
I don't need to explain why I did something a certain way, or why I didn't do something at all.
And it's not because it's not helpful to, but its because sometimes, not everyone that is looking for your reasoning in certain matters actually cares,
they just want to prove that your reasoning is wrong and there's is right.
And that's where you step out of the little game of proving yourself right and simply exist.
Give it enough time, and you will have more faith in what you are doing, and not in what others are saying you shouldn't do.
